Schedule confirmed for 2007 finals

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia and Vietnam have been confirmed as the venues for the semi-finals of the AFC Asian Cup 2007 as the Asian Football Confederation finalised the kick-off times for July’s finals.
Bangkok will host the opening game of the tournament between co-hosts Thailand and Iraq, which kicks off at 19.35 local time at the Rajamangala Stadium.
“We have managed to achieve a fair spread of late and early kick-offs for each of the participating teams, and also accommodate a comprehensive broadcast platform across the continent,” said Carlo Nohra, the AFC’s Director of Competitions.
“In terms of the local kick-off times, obviously we have aimed to ensure that fans will have the opportunity to support both their national and the visiting teams and we look forward to record attendance.”
